The “Better With Age” committee have been working hard to ensure the eighth annual fundraiser will be bigger and better than ever. The event is held to raise funds for both Horizon Health and for the Friends of Linden Hill.
Horizon Health, based in Pierz, provides healthy living options for seniors and for those living with disabilities. The Friends of Linden Hill preserves the living and structural history of the historic site through tours, overnight stays, conventions, a museum and all manner of celebrations.
The event will be held Thursday, June 26, at Linden Hill. The committee members said this year’s fundraiser will be fabulous. Especially if everyone wears black, white or black and white, the theme of “Better With Age.”
The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. For two hours, guests will be able to learn about different wines in the music room of the Musser mansion. Jeff Anderson, sommelier, will be conducting “mini” wine classes.
At 7:30 p.m., dinner will be served on the lawn. This year, Jordie’s Cafe, Bowlus, will cater the event, offering Rosemary chicken, baby red potatoes, summer salad and dinner rolls with herb butter.
During the evening, wine and beer tasting, provided by Westside Liquor and D & D Beer Company, both of Little Falls, and Third Street Brewery of Cold Spring, will be offered in the pavilion on site. Hors d’ oeuvres will be available.
Music during and after dinner will be provided by the Little Falls Jazz Ensemble beginning at 8 p.m. There will also be both a silent and a live auction.
Some items in the live auction include dinner and an overnight stay for 10 at Linden Hill; a half hour plane ride for two over Morrison County; an overnight golf package at Madden’s Resort; a necklace from GoldSmith Jewelers, a wheelbarrow of beverages; a grill package, a jewelry set from Birgirts Jewelers and more.
Tours will be offered of both the Musser and the Weyerhaeuser mansions and the grounds.
Everyone who attends will receive a wine glass and charm. There will also be the opportunity to purchase wine or beer with dinner.
The evening includes a “Spirit Pull” where participants may purchase a sleeved bottle of wine for $20. The secret wine could be worth $10 or $100 or somewhere in between.
Everyday People Studio will be on site to take a free digital photo of anyone who wishes a remembrance of the evening. Props such as hats, gloves and more will be available.
