James Ring

James Donald Ring, 68- year-old resident of Little Falls, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014, at his home in Little Falls.
Funeral service were held Wednesday, June 4, at the Camp Ripley Chapel inside the gates of Camp Ripley with Father Tim Wenzel officiating. Burial took place in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls.
James was born on July 24, 1945 in Little Falls, to the late Leonard and Helen (Guck) Ring. He grew up in Little Falls where he graduated from Little Falls High School. Jim then went on to attend college at St. Cloud Business until enlisting in the U.S Army where he served during the Vietnam War over in Italy. He was united in marriage to Patrese Robinson, May 11, 1968, at St. James Catholic Church in Randall. James was an avid reader and loved trains. He collected, built and was very knowledgeable about all types of trains. Jims greatest love in life was following his grandchildrens sporting and extra curricular events. He also liked tinkering with small engines, cars and watches. Jim had a strong moral character and his Christian faith was uncompromised. He loved his family dearly and he will be greatly missed.
James is survived by wife Pat Ring of Little Falls; daughters, Barbie (Tommy) Miller of Little Falls and Kimie (Ian) Ring of Sauk Rapids; siblings, Betty Pasela of Little Falls, Peter (Dianne) Ring of Little Falls and Mary (Jim) Skoog of Little Falls; grandchildren, Thomas and Abi Miller; and nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by parents, Leonard and Helen Ring; and brother-in-law, Jerry Pasela.
