Bark/Walk to benefit Pierz woman

A benefit will be held for the Litke family Sunday, June 29, at Pierz Golf Course Park. Pictured are Jamie Litke, left, and his wife, Michelle, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in May.

A benefit called the “Bark/Walk for Michelle Litke will be held Sunday, June 29, at the Pierz Golf Course Park.

Michelle, a second-grade teacher at Pioneer Elementary, was diagnosed with breast cancer in May and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Michelle and her husband, Jamie, have four young children.

The benefit begins with an 11 a.m. registration. At 11:45 a.m., the Bark/Walk will travel through Pierz. A freewill lunch will be served, a dog costume contest  held and other activities at the park, following the walk.

All are welcome to show their support for the Litke family and spend time with family, friends and dogs. All dogs must be leashed.
