MORRISON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
SUMMARY OF MINUTES FOR MAY 20, 2014
The meeting was held in the County Board Room, Government Center, Little Falls MN, and was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Jelinski.
Members present: Commissioners: Jeff Jelinski, Randy Winscher, Duane Johnson, Kevin Maurer and Don Meyer.
Staff present: Deb Gruber, Brian Middendorf, Russ Nygren, Brad Vold, Bonnie Paulsen, Steve Backowski, Karla Nornberg, Michel Wetzel, Becky Moe, Jody Lucken, Paul Bukovich, and Nicole Nordlund.
Others present: Jennifer Prueser, Pam Allord, Shantell Carpenter, Megan Holzheimer, Carren Miller and Liz Verley. A motion was made by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Maurer and carried unanimously to approve the Morrison County Board of Commissioner Minutes for May 6, 2014.
A motion was made by Commissioner Meyer, seconded by Commissioner Winscher and carried unanimously to adopt the agenda as presented.
A motion was made by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Maurer and carried unanimously to proclaim the month of May, 2014 as Vulnerable Adult Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month.
A motion was made by Commissioner Meyer, seconded by Commissioner Maurer and carried unanimously to enter into contract with Uniek Software to provide electronic medical records for the jail.
A motion was made by Commissioner Winscher, seconded by Commissioner Maurer and carried unanimously to enter into contract with Motorola to provide updated consoles to the dispatch center.
A motion was made by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Maurer and carried unanimously to approve the following 2014 Establishment Licenses:
Dist. #5 Uncle Bs Cafe; & Catering, Swanville, MN New Establishment Owner License
Dist. #2 Dairy Queen, Little Falls New Establishment Owner License
Dist. #1 Pine Grove Zoo, Little Falls, MN Seasonal Establishment License
A motion was made by Commissioner Meyer, seconded by Commissioner Maurer and carried unanimously to approve authorizing the application for 2014 Toward Zero Death (TZD) Safe Roads grant from the Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety. This grant is for a one-year term.
A motion was made by Commissioner Maurer, seconded by Commissioner Meyer and carried unanimously to approve the one day liquor license to the Pierz Commercial Club (Pierz Freedom Fest) on July 19, 2014 at the Genola Ball Fields.
A motion was made by Commissioner Winscher, seconded by Commissioner Johnson and carried unanimously to approve the annual renewal of the Precious Metal Dealer Licenses to the following: Melgram Jewelers
GoldSmith Jewelers
RSC Jewelry & Coins
A motion was made by Commissioner Meyer and seconded by Commissioner Johnson to approve the Commissioners Expense Reports as presented. Motion carried on a roll call vote with all Commissioners voting aye.
A motion was made by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Maurer and carried unanimously to approve Resolution #2014-023 MnDOT Agency Agreement No. 05856 for exchange of federal funds for state aid funds.
A motion was made by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Meyer to appoint Kathy Marshik as the new Morrison County Veterans Service Officer beginning 5/28/2014 for a four-year term. Motion carried on a 4-1 vote with Commissioner Maurer abstaining from the vote.
A motion was made by Commissioner Winscher, seconded by Commissioner Johnson and carried unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 11:08 a.m.
