Little Falls VFW crushes St. Cloud Blue twice

The bats were hot and the pitching was just as stellar for the Little Falls VFW baseball team in an 8-1, 7-1 doubleheader sweep over visiting St. Cloud Blue (Cathedral), Thursday.

Little Falls scored in each of the first four frames in the opener, breaking the game open in the fourth on a two-run triple by Chris Reller, who later scored on a sacrifice fly by Dan Marod.

Mitch Boros and Thomas Miller each added a pair of hits in the contest.

Justin Jenks dominated on the mound, tossing a four-hitter without allowing an earned run, striking out 10.

St. Cloud scored the first run in the top of the first inning of game two, but Little Falls quickly responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning, then four more in the second.

Derek Poser went 2-for-3 with a two-run triple and Brett Czajkowski went 2-for-2 with an RBI double.

Adam Josephson added a triple and Boros doubled.

Chris Reller fired a three-hitter and also gave up just one unearned run, striking out five.
