Jeff Finch, an employee of City Sanitary Service, was named the Little Falls Chamber of Commerce Employee of the Month for July.
“I was surprised,” he said. “I’ve never been nominated for something like this before.”
About his job, Finch said it is nice to go to work and know that “I always have whatever I need to get the job done. Gregg and Laurie are great to work for and I enjoy the crew at City Sanitary Service.”
Gregg and Laurie Burgardt, owners of City Sanitary Service, said they are lucky to have Finch as an employee.
“Jeff is very courteous and dependable. He is always willing to do whatever job is asked of him. He never complains when he has to work overtime. We thank you, Jeff, for your dedication and all you do for us,” said Laurie.
Finch, who has worked at City Sanitary Service for about 2.5 years, is a route driver. He picks up refuse from dumpsters and rural residents. He picks up the recycling in Little Falls on Thursdays and helps to maintain company vehicles.
Finch attended St. Cloud Technical College and graduated with a degree in automotive technology. During school, he worked at Speedy Delivery in St. Cloud, servicing their trucks. After graduation, he went to work for Pleasureland, then Hilmerson RV, for a total of 12 years, maintaining recreational vehicles.
Finch and his wife, Anne, have been married for 11 years. They have a 9-year-old son named Sam.
In his spare time, Finch is at Lakes Area BMX Race Track in Brainerd where Sam races bikes. Finch is also a volunteer board member of the organization.
The Finches also spend as much time as possible at their cabin in Wilderness Park in Leader.
For becoming the Employee of the Month, Finch received gift certificates at Fresh Hair Professionals, Subway, The Royal Cafe, West Side Bar and Falls Floral. He also had his photo taken by Silker Studio and received a cookbook from St. Gabriel’s Hospital Hospice Program.
