Larry Hiscock, 78-year-old resident of rural Buckman, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Quiet Oaks Hospice in St. Augusta. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 10, at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz, with Gloria Vande Brake officitaing. Burial took place in the Graham Cemetery.
Larry was born on Feb. 7, 1936 in Brockway Township, Stearns County to the late Robert and Ella (Anderson) Hiscock. He attended schools in Sauk Rapids and Sartell, and graduated from St. Cloud Tech High School. As a young man he worked at various filling stations in the St. Cloud area. Larry was employed at DeZurik Manufacturing for 34 years as a machinist and supervisor and retired from there in 1998. He was united in marriage to Joan Hubbard and to this marriage five children were born; Larry, Mark, Lori, Thomas and Lynn. He was then united in marriage to Theresa Morgal and to this marriage a daughter Janice was born. In 1984 Larry married Carol Loscheider and they have been happily married for the last 30 years. Larry enjoyed hunting and the quiet beauty of the great outdoors. His greatest love in his life though was his family. Larry also spent many hours caring for his cattle, horses, and his only girlfriend, Tara, a blue heeler dog. He was a member of Faith Community Church in Pierz. Larry was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
Larry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carol Hiscock of rural Buckman; children. Larry (Mimi) Hiscock of rural Nevis; Mark (Annette) Weber of Akeley; Lori (Chuck) Pearson of Ham Lake; Lynn Weber of Blaine and Janice (Troy) Hiscock-Knott of Colorado Springs, Colo.; stepson, Eric Kuechle of Upsala; sister-in-law, Karen Hinton of Park Rapids; grandchildren, Jason, Nicole, Melissa, and Rose; great-grandchildren, Sammy, Tristin and Zara; and stepgrandchild, Breanna.
Larry was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Ella Hiscock; son, Thomas Hiscock; and grandparents, Charles and Edith Hiscock and Hans and Martha Anderson.
