By Tina Snell, Staff Writer The eighth annual Motley Two Rivers Music Fest will be held Saturday, July 26, at the Motley Fairgrounds. While only one day of activities and music this year, organizers promise it will be as pleasing to the ears as ever before. The day begins with the Motley Fire Department’s annual fundraiser breakfast at 7 a.m. at the fairgrounds. Then at 11 a.m., bring lawn chairs for the annual parade which will flow down Third Street from the Motley United Methodist Church to the fairgrounds. At noon, the 34th Division Marching Band will be playing after their service and ceremony at Veteran’s Park. Also at noon, the beer garden opens to quench thirsts, food vendors will be set up along with crafters. Kiddieland for the children will be open from noon – 4 p.m. At 12:30 p.m., the Alan Godage Sundown Band will perform their ever-favorite classic country music and then Katie Ziegler takes the stage at 4:30 p.m. to sing many of her own compositions which lean toward the folk and country genre. At 5:30 p.m., the raffle winners will be chosen. Prizes include a Grand Casino Mille Lacs package, a fire pit ring and a chain saw-carved bear. To finish the festivities, fireworks will be shown over the city at 10 p.m. For more information, contact Larry Beckner at (218) 820-8303.
