Scandia Valley’s annual Summerfest is three-day celebration, Aug. 1 – 3

Scandia Valley will hold its annual “Summerfest” celebration Friday – Sunday, Aug. 1 – 3. Friday activities begin at 5 p.m. with kids’ activities and pony rides, Axle Grill Food Truck will provide treats and fireworks will light up the sky at dusk.

A craft and vendor sale begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, and runs through 5 p.m. From Noon – 5 p.m. the firemen will host their turkey barbecue, while kids’ activities such as pony rides, helicopter landing, bike rodeo and more go on. From 5 p.m. – 8 p.m., food will be served and kids’ activities continue. A street dance in the park runs from 8 p.m. – midnight, with music by Shirts and Skins band. The Axle Grill Food Truck will again be on site with treats.

Sunday begins with a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m., with church in the park at 10 a.m. A picnic follows church, raffle drawings will be held at 11 a.m., and a motorcycle ride begins at noon. Registration for the motorcycle ride starts at 11 a.m., and proceeds will benefit the Motley Fire Department Relief Association. For information on the ride, call Lonna at (218) 838-0254.

All events will be held at the Scandia Valley Town Hall and Park, 2518 320th Street, or County Road 3, in Cushing.
