Legion Baseball: Little Falls wins playoff opener, falls to Chutes in round two

The Little Falls American Legion baseball team rode eight strong innings from Kyle Boser in its playoff opener before suffering a narrow loss in the second round in St. Cloud.

Fifth-seeded Little Falls topped fourth-seeded Waite Park 7-3 in Tuesday’s first round of the Sub-State 12 tournament, with Boser scattering eight hits and striking out six batters.

Alec Zack went 3-for-5 and Collin Eckman went 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs, with Boser also collecting two hits.

Little Falls then fell late to the top-seeded St. Cloud Chutes 6-4, Wednesday.

Gabe Ploof went 2-for-2 and Bryce Zawatzke doubled and drove in two runs.
