Realizing the Morrison County Board had issued a permit to Ralph and Ron Rinkel for the Friday – Monday, Sept. 1, MudFest with no conditions listed, it voted to rectify the error at Tuesday’s meeting.
The purpose of the biannual event is to play in the mud and experience primitive camping in Mount Morris Township, east of Hillman, on 113th Street. More than 2,000 people are expected to attend the Labor Day weekend event.
Added to the already agreed upon stipulations were:
•Flags must be present on all ATVs and only two passengers allowed on each ATV at one time;
•Every mud truck operator and ATV operator must sign a waiver permitting a portable breath test by Morrison County deputies whenever in a truck or ATV;
•Mud trucks must be restricted to the staging areas and allowed to and from camping areas only if escorted by staff and/or owners;
•Provide adequate fire protection;
•Adhere to previously presented security staffing levels;
•The prohibition of beverages being transported by ATV or mud trucks except by working staff;
•Truck windshields must be washed before leaving the mud pits;
•A 10 mile-per-hour speed limit must be adhered to unless in a mud pit; and
•No person may enter or exit a mud truck while in the mud pit.
