Public comment invited on revised hunt plan for Crane Meadows NWR

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is seeking public comment on an amended Hunt Plan, Environmental Assessment and Compatibility Determination for Crane Meadows National Wildlife Refuge (NWR). The public will have 30 days to comment on the proposed activities and plans. All of the documents have been drafted and submitted for review. They may be viewed on the Crane Meadows NWR website at www.fws.gov/midwest/cranemeadows.

As part of the 30-day comment period, the Refuge is hosting a listening station — an open house to answer or address any questions or concerns regarding the hunt proposal or the process. It will be held at Crane Meadows NWR Thursday, Sept. 4, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. In addition, people who have comments or concerns may stop at the office or send written submissions to the office. The office address is: Crane Meadows NWR, 19502 Iris Road, Little Falls, MN 56345.

Electronic copies of the draft Hunt Plan, Environmental Assessment or Compatibility Determination may be obtained by calling (320) 632-1575 or by emailing paul_soler@fws.gov. Paper copies of each document are available at the Refuge headquarters.
