Prairie Conference Volleyball: Swanville rolls to another win

Swanville breezed past visiting Pillager 25-17, 25-11, 25-14 for its second win in a row to open the season, Aug. 28.

Senior Danica Hanson had six kills and 10 assists and junior Haileigh Sales slammed five kills and five aces to lead the Bulldogs offensively.

Junior Rachel Evans posted a team-high six digs while senior Simone Grittner, sophomore Madison Beseman and Sales all had five.

Senior Ashlie Kaun added eight assists.

Westrich, Cheney stand out

Seniors Brooke Westrich and Danica Cheney turned in strong nights both offensively and defensively to guide Upsala to a 25-12, 25-23, 25-19 sweep over visiting Eden Valley-Watkins, Tuesday.

Westrich slammed 13 kills and dug out six shots and Cheney recorded 10 kills, 17 digs and three aces.

Senior Mariah Prokott was also stellar with five kills and 11 digs, junior Kiley Smieja and sophomore Katlin Welinski each had three kills and senior Sara Herzog made 11 digs.

Kimball sweeps Royals

Kimball Area swept visiting Royalton 25-17, 25-16, 25-19 in a non-conference match, Tuesday.

Senior Hayley Gottwalt and sophomore Brandi Kloss each had four kills and senior Abby Duevel and junior Olivia Gall added three apiece for the Royalton offense versus the Cubs.

Senior Haley Olson passed out 14 assists.
