Rebecca McCollough, along with her husband Garrett, have opened a day spa in Little Falls. Called “Hello Gorgeous,” it is located at 68 E. Broadway and offers a pampering experience from head to toe.
If the McCollough name is familiar, it’s because they also own CC’s Ice Cream truck that services much of Morrison County.
McCollough has 10 years of experience in the salon business. From Alabama, she owned salons there before moving to Minnesota with her family.
“I was trained at Cole’s Cosmetology in Fergus Falls,” she said. “I graduated in 1996, then moved south to be with Garrett. We are both excited to be back in Minnesota.”
McCollough’s specialty lies in color and cuts. While the spa just opened Dec. 3, she has already hired others to do massage, manicures and waxing.
Elana Harakel’s specialty is pedicures and gels, but is also passionate about working with long hair.
“I have worked with hair for 18 years, living in Little Falls for about 10 years,” said Harakel. “I was trained in Sioux Falls, S.D., at Stewart’s School of Cosmetology.”
She said that while she is a cosmetologist by trade, she has fallen in love with foot care and offers not only pedicures, but foot detoxifications and paraffin wax dips to help increase circulation in the feet and legs.
Harakel is married to Christopher and they have two children, Sareinna, 12, and Lane, 6.
Garret and Rebecca have twins, Claire and Cameron, who attend the Little Falls Community Middle School.
The spa uses Schwarzkopf brand coloring for hair. McCollough said she has used the premium color for 10 years and finds it is best at covering gray while not fading.
Hello Gorgeous is a franchise business based in Fairview, Texas. McCollough’s spa in Little Falls is the fourth salon under the same name in the country. The others are in Texas and Louisiana.
“We offer a full-service salon,” said McCollough. “We use Ultra Aloe Care, food for your skin. It is organic from the Rio Grande Valley and uses aloe as its primary ingredient, not water.”
Also available at the spa are aloe vera drinks which contain the acai berry, cleansing creams, toning mists, gels, masks, exfoliators and lotions, all using natural ingredients.
The spa offers tanning, too, and massages, given by massage therapist Colleen Pasch, a Camp Ripley retiree.
Hello Gorgeous’ niche will be its chocolates.
“We want this to be a holiday destination,” said Garrett. “Valentine’s Day, Christmas and others, we have chocolates for all occasions.”
The chocolates are hand-made truffles from the Sweet Shop, a gourmet chocolate manufacturer in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
Hello Gorgeous offers the Sweet Shop chocolates in bulk or in gift boxes. The McColloughs will also create gift baskets to their customers’ specifications.
“It’s exciting,” said Garrett. “The new full-service day spa is where our customers may sample chocolates for free while getting pampered from head to toe.”
Hello Gorgeous is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. For Monday, Saturday or evening appointments, call (320) 630-8352 or (320) 360-7419. McCollough will also take appointments via email at hellogorgeoussa
