Vivian Gustafson

Vivian Mae Elizabeth Gustafson, of Little Falls, beloved wife of the late Edwin A. Gustafson, passed away peacefully, Jan. 22, 2015, at the Little Falls Care Center.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Oakland Cemetery in Little Falls with the Rev. Hank French officiating.
Vivian was born Sept. 19, 1920, in Postville, Iowa, the daughter of the late Louis and Caroline Schlee. Vivian was first and foremost a loving and supportive wife and mother, as well as a warm friend. In high school, she was a member of an Iowa state girls basketball championship team and was named to the all-state team. For many years, she was a retail sales associate and assistant manager at J.C. Penney prior to its closing. She was a life-long member of First Lutheran Church, Little Falls. She loved to follow the Twins, Vikings and Iowa Hawkeyes, but was usually disappointed in the outcome of the games.
She is survived by her son, David A. Gustafson and wife, Sandra, of Amston, Conn.,; her granddaughter, Dr. Shannon Sugarman and her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Sugarman; and, great-granddaughter, Ella Frances Sugarman, all of Atlanta, Ga. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Loretta Eberling and Charlene Morton; a grandson, David A. Gustafson, Jr., and a great-granddaughter, Rose Caroline Sugarman.
The family wishes to express its sincere gratitude to her close friend, Verde Mahling, for her kindness and support. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, Little Falls or a charity of the donors choice.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in the Spring.
