Workshop still has room for more gardeners

There are still openings available at the gardening workshop Saturday, March 28, at the Morrison County Government Center hosted by the Morrison County Master Gardeners.

The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. with keynote speaker Amy Kowalczyk, speaking about pollinators and neonicotinoids. Other speakers include Theri Wasniewski, an instructor at Central Lakes College in the horticulture department; Shelly Boser, retail sales manager at Landsburg Landscape Nursery Inc.; Adam Hjelm, education coordinator for the Sauk River Watershed District; and Jerry Wenzel, Morrison County master gardener.

Participants will choose classes in each of three sessions. Session one is the choice of “Small Fruits for the Home Garden” or “Landscaping with Native Perennials.” Session two is either “Shelly’s Top 10 Underused Perennials” or “Pruning Shrubs – Flowering and Non-Flowering.” Session three is either “Gardening for the Butterflies” or “Pruning Apple Trees.” The workshop will end around 12:30 p.m.

The cost of the workshop is $10, which includes all course materials and refreshments. Registration is due by March 25. Payment is due upon registration.
