Great River Arts is hosting the annual Little Falls Community High School (LFCHS) Art Show in the Main Gallery during the month of March. The closing reception will be held Saturday, March 28, from noon – 2 p.m., complete with live music played by the Flyer Jazz Combo.

During Student Art Month, the Main Gallery is filled with the work of LFCHS students from grades 9-12. Works range from traditional techniques like painting and drawing to more contemporary approaches in artist books and melted wax crayons. “The students bring a great range of talent to the exhibition,” said Sam Bruno, GRA program support specialist. “I am glad we can offer them a professional setting to encourage their creativity.”

This year in particular, the quilts are very impressive as they loom on the back wall and hang from the ceiling throughout the gallery space, said Bruno. “Another highlight in the show are the multitude of crafted ceramics pieces. Many gallery visitors comment on the amount of detail that the students put into their work,” she said.

Great River Arts is located at 122 SE First St. in historic downtown Little Falls. Gallery and gift shop hours are Wednesday – Friday, from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Visit www.greatart.org to be notified of other upcoming events.
