Golf teams still swing away

The golf season continued recently as the Pierz and Little Falls golf teams were in action.
The Pierz girls golf team traveled to Maple Lake, April 14, for a nine hole meet.
The Pioneers finished in third place with a total of 195. Jessica Hawks shot a second place 38 on the day.
Other scores for Pierz were Brittany Talberg’s 48, seventh grader Katie LeBlanc’s 51, Breanna Hopkins’ 58 and Izzy Kohl’s 65.
The Pierz boys were also in action. They traveled to Kimball, April 16, for a meet.
Josh Rocheleau shot a 50 for Pierz as they finished in seventh place with a 227.
The Pioneers wrestled a cold and windy day, Tuesday, as they went to Shadowbrook in Lester Prairie for a meet hosted by Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted.
Pierz finished in seventh place as a team once again, one stroke worse at 228.
Rocheleau improved, shooting a 44. Brandon Funk added a 57 and Hunter Bednar had a 58.
Little Falls was also in action April 16, in Becker.
The Flyers took 11th out of 16 teams in the 18-hole invitational.
Senior Kyler Erdman led the Flyers with a 77. Fellow seniors Josh DeCann (85) and Michael Orr (87) also played well.
The other scores for the Flyers included: Austin Visker (92), Noah Jones and Landon Bjorge, 93 each.
The Pierz boys also played in Long Prairie, Friday, but results were unavailable by press time.
Little Falls is scheduled to golf in Albany, Monday. The Pierz girls are set to golf in Milaca Wednesday, and host a tournament, Thursday.
The Pierz boys next action is in Rockford, Thursday.
