A motorcycle ride benefiting the Morrison County Chapter of Disabled American Veterans (DAV) will be held Saturday, July 23, starting at 12:30 p.m. The public is invited to participate by riding along, driving along, donating and participating in the live auction.
Registration starts at 11:30 a.m. at the West Side Bar in Little Falls. The suggested donation per rider is $10. The ride will start at 12:30 p.m., stopping at Doochie’s in St. Martin and The 12 Mile Tavern in Swanville, with door prizes at each location, returning to the West Side Bar for dinner and a DJ playing requests. The live auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. with auctioneer Carly Winscher accepting bids. Auction items include a handmade king-size Harley quilt by Michelle LeClaire, an action camera from RadioShack, a full hog sold in halves from River Side Meats and several other items. A purse, with an undisclosed amount of money, will also be auctioned off.
The event will be held rain or shine. Participants may register at any stop. Organizers encourage all vehicles, especially classic cars and trucks to join in the fundraiser for the disabled veterans of Morrison and Todd counties.
The DAV is dedicated to a single purpose, empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. This is accomplished by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill; and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life.
