Kathleen Brown, age 81, of Sauk Rapids and formerly of Morrill, died Sunday, August 21, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Morrill. The Rev. Leo Moenkedick will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley one hour prior to the services at the church. Parish Prayers will be at 5 p.m. followed by Christian Mothers Rosary at 6 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.

Kathleen Rose Brown was born November 13, 1934 in Benton County, Minnesota to Andrew and Leona (Fischer) Wassel. She married David Brown on September 9, 1958 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Brennyville. She lived and raised her family near Morrill most of her life. Kathleen loved taking pictures, often with more than one camera, scrap booking; saving newspaper clippings; genealogy; spending time on her computer and playing cards. She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she was instrumental in starting the St. Joseph’s Prayer Line. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Christian Mothers, St. Jude’s Mission Group and a funeral lunch volunteer for many years.

She is survived by her sons and daughters, Larry (Julie) of Foley, Diane (Jack) Kieffer of Morrill, Roger (LeAnn) of Foley, Jerry ‘Butch’ (Julie) of Hillman; Bob (Kim) of Sauk Rapids; daughter-in-law, Lisa (Bernie) Brown-Janson of Mayhew Lake; 12 grandchildren, Jason, Cory and Cierra Brown, Andrew Kieffer, Emily, Abby and Alyssa Brown; Karlee Brown, Justin Brown and Shawna Latterell, Nicholas Brown and Jessica Foss; five great-grandchildren; Ella, Trevor and Cici Brown and Brooke and Blaire Foss, sister and brother; Fran Matvick, Foley and Gerald (Barb) Wassel, Milaca.

She was preceded in death by her husband David, February 5, 2012, son, Mark ‘Mick’, February 3, 2004, granddaughter, Ashton Kieffer and a grandson, Eric Wolfe.
