Oh, what a life he brings

There was a time in my life that I became desperate to meet God, not that I wanted to die, no not at all. I knew God was real and that he created all things and that all he created had a purpose. The question that drove me was that there had to be a purpose and plan for my life and that God had it. Even though I had grown up in church and knew the reality of God’s existence, I had no personal connection with him where I could get an answer to my question.

Never read a Bible, so I did not know that God also had an invitation out for me, to receive his son, Jesus, in my heart as savior and Lord. I remember going to a retreat where I was told all the things I needed to do to please God. In frustration I ran to a little chapel and cried out to God: “Lord if you don’t take over nothing is going to change, please take over.” That was the best I knew for a salvation prayer, but thank God he honored it, for his peace and acceptance flooded my life and I have never been the same since.

God’s plan for everyone’s life is absolutely awesome and it starts when we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior. He died for all of our sins and gave us a brand new life in himself, our spirit (the part of us that will live forever) was born anew of God and we died to living the self life. I learned that this did not happen automatically because I went to church. No, it was a choice I had to make. It also did not happen because I was trying to be a good person living on a performance basis for God.

No I learned God wanted fellowship, relationship, intimacy with me. Yes, and out of that intimacy I wanted to go to church to meet with the family of God and I lived to walk out his goodness from within.

Eph 1:3: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4, just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love, 5, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the beloved.”

Just think that God appointed us to live at this time in him before this world ever was and then he came to pay the full penalty and judgment for my sins so we can live in his presence and fullness. Wow! Shouldn’t we choose Jesus to live for and in him?

Gal 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” 2 Cor 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” NKJV

In the midst of a world full of differences, strife, anger and judgments fear and confusion, isn’t it time to choose him who already is the king of all kings, who has the wisdom, peace love and joy for everyone who makes Jesus Christ Lord of all. His kingdom will surely come as it is in heaven and is already in the hearts of those who did choose him.

He is the greatest lover you will ever know and the more you seek him the more you’ll find him.
