Senior Brianna Meyer helped slug the Pierz girls softball team past its first two opponents of the year.
Meyer went 2-for-2 with an RBI in a 7-1 win over Foley in the season opener, April 7.
Junior hurler Brittney Boser went all seven innings, allowing only three hits and striking out nine.
Emily Burggraff also drove in a run for the Pioneers.
Meyer continued her strong play with a 3-for-4 day at the plate in a 17-12 slugfest against Holdingford, Tuesday. She drove in a pair of runs and scored four times, also smacking a solo homer.
Boser clubbed a three-run dinger and drove in four runs, scoring a pair herself. She also tossed all seven innings allowing only one earned run.
The loss dropped the Huskers to 0-4 to start the year. They will host Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, Tuesday.
Undefeated Pierz will travel to play Paynesville, Tuesday.
