Ruth Ann Monson

Ruth Ann Monson, 65- year-old resident of Brainerd, formerly of Randall and Little Falls, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Josh’s Place in Brainerd.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, with Father Joseph Herzing officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Tuesday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at the St. James Catholic Church Cemetery in Randall.
Ruth Ann was born March 31, 1952, in Anoka, to the late Nels and Bertha (Seelen) Monson. She was 7 years old when her family moved to a farm in the Randall area. She attended Dr. S.G. Knight Elementary School in Randall through the ninth grade. She attended high school in Little Falls and graduated with the class of 1970. She continued her education for job skill training in Anoka. Ruth Ann worked at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in the laundry department for 14 years. She also did volunteer work at the hospital. Later she worked at the casino as a dishwasher until her retirement. She was a resident of Josh’s Place in Brainerd for the past three years.
Ruth Ann loved to bake, do latch work and color. She enjoyed going on outings to shop and eat out, especially ice cream. The music had to be Elvis or the golden oldies with the windows down and the volume turned up in the van. She was full of life and had a compassionate heart for all. She touched the hearts of those who cared for her with her vibrant personality and smile.
Ruth Ann is survived by her sister, Diane (Bruce) Lambert of Fort Ripley; brother, Kurt (Jenny) Monson of Randall; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha in 2014 and father, Nels in 2007.
