Annie E. Betts, 85- year-old resident of Little Falls, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017, at the Little Falls Care Center.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 15, at Randall Presbyterian Church in Randall, with Robert Bellin officiating. Burial will be at the Randall City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Randall Presbyterian Church and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
Annie E. Norberg was born Aug. 4, 1931, in Crow Wing County to Andrew and Laura (Anderson) Norberg. She attended country school until the eighth grade and later received her GED. Annie was united in marriage to Frank Betts May 7, 1968, in Sisseton, S.D. Together they farmed for many years in Darling Township. Annie and Frank spent many vacations with the family traveling to Hawaii, Acapulco, Arizona, Florida and the Black Hills. Annie was a gentle woman who loved being home baking and cooking for her family. She often cared for the neighbor kids and spent as much time as she could with her grandchildren. She was an avid gardener, growing vegetable plants and flowers for people to purchase. She also enjoyed sewing. Some of her projects included clothes for herself, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, quilts and most recently, place mats and table runners. Annie was a woman of great faith. She attended the Randall Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school, helped with vacation bible school and was a member of the choir. She had a love for animals, especially their dog, Lady and cat, Pipper. In her spare time Annie enjoyed watching the birds, reading and listening to Christian music.
Annie is survived by her son, Larry (Jeri) Betts; daughter-in-law, Beth Betts; siblings, Christina (Richard) Mix, Gertrude Maly, Carl, Robert and Paul (Ruth) Norberg; grandchildren, Tonia, (Gerry) Maciej, Trevor (Lisa) Betts, Holly (Jason) Dahlmeir; great-grandchildren, Sara Maciej, Madalynn and Maxwell Betts, Ethan and Nolan Dahlmeir and many other family members.
Annie is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Laura Norberg; husband, Frank Betts; son, Lee Betts; daughter, Sonja (Betts) Johnson; sister, Evelyn Norberg and brother-in-law, Dick Maly.
