Terry A. Pearson, 72-year-old resident of Olathe, Kansas, formerly of Upsala, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017, at a hospice facility in Kansas City, Mo., after a brief battle with cancer. He now joins his parents in their forever home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 17, at Community Covenant Church in Upsala. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church.
Terry was born Sept. 8, 1944, in Upsala, to the late James and Ruth Pearson. He spent his professional career as a carpenter until a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) forced his early retirement. Terry was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed both hunting and fishing throughout his life. He briefly relocated to Missouri and eventually back to Minnesota where he settled in Little Falls. His deteriorating health required his move to Olathe Kansas in 2015, so his family could provide better hands-on care for him. Terry will be remembered most for his amazing sense of humor and his ability to tell stories. He was also known for his gentle soul and giving spirit by all who knew him.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, James Pearson Sr. and Ruth Pearson. He is survived by his sons, Dean Pearson of Kernersville, N.C. and David Pearson of Olathe, Kan.; grandchildren, Doug, Taylor, Nina and Wade; brother, James Sr., and sister, Wendy Voronyak; and several nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donating to the church or a charity of your choice.
