A series of four one-run losses in a row has dropped the Little Falls VFW baseball team to 3-12-1 overall on the season.
The unlucky streak began with a pair of extra-inning losses in a doubleheader against Foley, June 29.
In game one, the Flyers were bested 4-3 in 10 innings. Little Falls surrendered the game-winning hit with two outs.
Caleb Strack led Little Falls with 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored.
In what was scheduled for a five-inning game, Little Falls was beaten 5-4 in six innings later that night.
Once again a two-out Foley hit doomed Little Falls.
Travis Wenzel was 2-for-3 with a double to lead the Flyers.
Another pair of losses came at first place Cold Spring, Wednesday.
In game one, Little Falls lost 5-4 after leaving the bases loaded in the top of the seventh and then allowing the game-winning run in the bottom half of the inning.
Strack went 2-for-3 and Alex Gwost crushed a double.
Game two went about the same way, as Little Falls fell, 8-7.
The Flyers led 7-3, but gave up five straight runs to fall.
Ethan Wickstrom was 2-for-3 with a double, and Arik Schwanke also had two hits.
Little Falls is 2-6 in league play, four of the losses the team has suffered have been by one run.
