Royalton Public Schools will host two open houses this summer to showcase its new facilities. The first event will be held Wednesday evening, July 19, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. The second will be held during Platte River Day, Saturday, Aug. 5, from noon – 2 p.m.
Guests may enter on the south end of the high school/middle school at the Early Childhood Center. Signs will be posted.
Tours guided by educators and members of the School Board, will allow the public to see the kindergarten area and the new early childhood development center, the district office, the new gymnasium and fitness center. If they choose, parents can sign their children up for kindergarten or early childhood development that evening.
Refreshments will be served and guests will be able to meet the new superintendent, John Phelps.
Wednesday’s open house will focus on early childhood development and kindergarten because, “It is such a unique and beautiful place,” Phelps said.
A few areas still need a little work, but should be completed by the Aug. 5 open house, planned during Platte River Day. That date was chosen as more people will be in town for the city’s annual celebration.
Everyone is welcome to see what’s new.
“That’s what we’re here for,” said Phelps. “That why the Board wants to be here and that’s why I’m here, to answer questions and if they want, give them a little look.”
