Winscher charged with receiving stolen property

Mark Wayne Winscher, 35, Pierz, is facing a felony charge for allegedly receiving a stolen trailer.

The charges stem from June 21, when a trailer was reported stolen from Pine County, valued at $7,500.

Law enforcement responded to a report of a stolen trailer located at a property in Morrison County.

Law enforcement impounded the trailer and the VIN number allegedly matched the stolen trailer from Pine County.

The property owner allegedly told law enforcement he arranged to buy the trailer from Winscher, and provided text messages allegedly showing the two agreeing on a price of $2,000.

One of the texts allegedly showed the trailer at a location matching Winscher’s residence.

Winscher was arrested July 21 and taken to the Morrison County Jail, where he allegedly said he didn’t sell the stolen trailer.

When shown the alleged messages between him and the property owner, Winscher allegedly said he didn’t want to say anything else and wanted to speak to an attorney.

If convicted, Winscher faces up to 10 years in prison and/or a $20,000 fine.
