Loving Husband and Father
Paul J. Yorek died peacefully in the Veterans Hospital on July 25, 2017 in St. Cloud, MN at the age of 77.
Paul is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Judith A. (Lichy) Yorek; and daughters Cheryl Yorek of Minneapolis and Stefanie Yorek (Jessica Sundin) of Minneapolis. Paul is the proud grandpa of Leila R. Yorek Sundin. He is survived by siblings: Ed (Nhyla) Yorek, Royalton; Kathleen (Kenneth) Welle, Albany; Dennis (Diana) Yorek, Albany; David Yorek, Sr., Royalton; Joann (Dave) Kroll, Royalton; Rita Symanietz, Rice; and Joe Yorek, St. Cloud.
He is preceded in death by parents Peter and Frances (Koshenina) Yorek of Bowlus.
Paul was born in Bowlus, MN. He joined the Army National Guard in 1963 and took a job at Camp Ripley in the MATES unit. He worked in that position for 20 years, retiring from the Army National Guard in 1983. After retiring from Camp he became an over-the-road truck driver. He loved being on the road and seeing the country. His children remember him as a kind and intelligent father who loved them unconditionally
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Interment will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, in Little Falls. His death follows a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
