Following its big win over Cathedral, Little Falls ran into one of the district’s top football teams in Zimmerman, Sept. 29.

The home Thunder jumped out to an early lead enroute to a 38-14 win over the Flyers.

Zimmerman scored two touchdowns through the air and another on the ground to lead 21-0 at halftime.

After the Thunder went up 35-0, the Flyers finally found the board with 49 seconds left in the third quarter with a 40 yard pass from senior Michael Gross to fellow senior Gage Larsen.

Zimmerman added a fourth-quarter field goal, but the Flyers notched another score with 19 seconds left in the game as senior Austin Erdmann plowed in from three yards out.

Zimmerman out gained the Flyers 343-257, including 281-112 on the ground.

Gross finished 8-for-19 for 145 yards. Erdmann had eight yards per carry with 56 yards.

The Flyers’ had three turnovers.

Little Falls (1-4) hosted Foley for homecoming, Friday. Results were unavailable by press time.

The Flyers will play their seventh game at New London-Spicer, Friday.
