OF PUBLIC HEARING
REVISIONS TO THE MORRISON COUNTY RECREATIONAL TRAIL (SOO LINE TRAIL) ORDINANCE
A Public Hearing will be held before the Morrison County Board of Commissioners for consideration of making amendment to the Recreational Trail Ordinance (Soo Line Trail).
The Hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on October 19, 2017 in the County Board Room of the Morrison County Government Center.
Copies of the proposed amendments will be available prior to the Public Hearing at the Auditor/Treasurer Office and the Morrison County Public Works Department office.
The proposed amendment is to strike subparagraph C of Section III from the ordinance so as to allow approved trail uses during the month of November. Currently the trail is closed for the entire month of November.
The following text constitutes a summary of the proposed changes:
Section II. Authorized Uses subparagraph A The West etc..
1. From April 1 through October 31 (proposed to be November 30) of each year by pedestrians, in-line skaters and bicyclers.
2. No change
3. From April 1 through October 31 (proposed to be November 30) of each year, the segment of the west trail from US Highway 10, at the Soo Line Highway 10 Park and Ride, west to the 160 Avenue Ramp etc..
Section II Authorized Uses subparagraph B The east etc..
1. From April 1 through October 31 (proposed to be November 30) of each year by pedestrians, bicyclers, horseback riders and all-terrain vehicles (ATV) of both classes (class 1 and class 2) as defined in MN Statute 84.92, subdivision 8.
SECTION III. UNAUTHORIZED USES subparagraph C.
THE FOLLOWING LANGUAGE IS PROPOSED TO BE ELIMINATED
FROM THE ORDINANCE.
The trail is closed and may not be used for any purpose from November 1st thru November 30th of each year, except that hunters may make direct crossings of the trail if they have authority or permission to hunt on property on both sides of the trail right of way.
