Many Little Falls attractions will be offering free admission, Sunday, June 5, as part of the annual Family Fun Day. Last year, the annual event brought in thousands of people to the various sites around the city. Many Little Falls tourist attractions will be hosting a Family Fun Day, Sunday, June 5. This has become an annual event to show appreciation to the members of the community as well as visitors to the area and is held the first Sunday of June.
Locations included in the Family Fun Day are:
The Charles A. Weyerhaeuser Museum which will be open from noon – 5 p.m. The theme this year for the Weyerhaeuser will be aprons and visitors are encouraged to wear aprons of all types to the museum this day.
There will be free entrance into the Charles A. Lindbergh State Park from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
The Lindbergh Historic Site will be open from noon – 5 p.m. Visitors are invited to tour the recently remodeled Visitor Center and the boyhood home of world famous aviator, inventor and conservationist, Charles A. Lindbergh. The last group tour of the Charles A. Lindbergh Home will begin at 4:30 p.m.
The Minnesota Fishing Museum, which features many fishing-related displays as well as a 270 gallon aquarium with live fish from the Mississippi River, will be open from noon – 5 p.m.
Visitors are invited to see the animals and participate in other scheduled activities at the Pine Grove Zoo from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
The Friends of Linden Hill will be offering tours of the Musser and Weyerhaeuser mansions from noon – 5 p.m. Guests are encouraged to also take a stroll through the gardens and grounds.
There are also several fundraisers and sales planned in conjunction with this event.
The Little Falls Dandee Lions will host a Dad’s Belgian Waffle brunch from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Little Falls VFW.
A portion of the proceeds from this brunch will go towards the Splash Park and Skate Park Project by the Mayor’s Youth Task Force. A plant sale will be held in the Linden Hill Pavilion from noon – 5 p.m. All proceeds from the sale of these plants will be used toward the beautification of Linden Hill’s gardens and grounds.
A yard sale will also be held in the Linden Hill Pavilion from noon – 5 p.m. Items will be brought in by volunteers. No items of historical significance will be sold.
A yard sale will be held from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Rosenmeier Home. The sale includes city surplus items from the Rosenmeier Home, including furniture, knick-knacks, pictures, clothes, dishes, kitchen items, and much more.
No admission fees will be charged for any of the sites participating in the Family Fun Day, excluding the fundraisers and sales taking place.
