Little Falls Community High School (LFCHS) named Jared Rickert, left, and Rachelle LeBlanc its June Athletes of the Month. Rickert, a junior on the boys track and field team, helped lead the Flyers to the Granite Ridge Conference (GRC) championship, May 15, by placing third in the 100-meter dash in 11.63 seconds to earn All-GRC honors. LeBlanc, a sophomore on the girls track and field team, was the GRC champion in the pole vault and All-GRC honorable mention in the long jump, 200 and as the anchor on the 4x200 relay team. “Rachelle has placed first in the pole vault in every meet this season and consistently scores in all events she participates in,” head coach Tara Schlagel said. “Rachelle works hard and is very dedicated to improving. She has a true competitive spirit.”

A black eye couldn't prevent Little Falls sophomore Rachelle LeBlanc from earning a gold medal in the pole vault at Saturday's Section 8AA meet in Detroit Lakes. After injuring herself in her final practice jump the day before, LeBlanc battled her way to the top spot to move on to the state meet.
