Little Falls Community High School (LFCHS) named Collin Eckman, left, and Mattia Hendrickson its August Athletes of the Month. Eckman, a senior on the football team, has displayed outstanding performance and leadership on the field, head coach Jay DeCann said. “(Eckman) leads by example and is also a vocal leader who can back up his actions with hard work in both practice and games.” In the team’s first four games, Eckman caught 14 passes for 137 yards and three touchdowns. Hendrickson, a senior on the girls cross country team, placed third at the Brainerd Melon run and won her first varsity meet at Wadena Deer-Creek. Hendrickson put in nearly 350 miles during the summer to lead the team, head coach Jacki DeVine said.
